I’m a digital strategist and marketing maven with more than 20 years experience in the music industry. Born and raised in Los Angeles, and living in San Francisco since 2005, I have been exploring and innovating in the world of digital music marketing for more than half of my music industry career. I started my career at 18 at Los Angeles based concert promoter, Avalon Attractions. From there I moved through the major label chain working at both Interscope Records and Capitol Records. In 1998, I transitioned to artist management representing a broad range of acts including platinum selling electronic artist, Robert Miles. With Robert Miles’ savvy online fan base, I began exploring ways to use the Internet to reach out to fans, assisting in the launch of his (advanced, at the time) website and coordinating promotion on user forums and through email marketing campaigns.
Moving to San Francisco enabled me to dig deeper into my appreciation for the intersection between music and technology, taking my knowledge to global digital distributor, IODA, where I was Director of Marketing Services. At IODA, I helped launch IODA Promonet™, the promotional distribution platform that provides royalty free music online for promotional use to blogs, podcasts, internet radio, social networks and other online media outlets. I was also involved in the creation and launch of IODA Marketing Services and the groundbreaking digital marketing platform, Promonet Pro™. In 2008, I moved on to learn more about online and mobile video as the Marketing Director at Kyte, the online and mobile video platform for media and entertainment. I am also the co-founder of the Flux Summit, San Francisco’s premier electronic music industry event.
I have one patent, love to dance and type an impressive 81 words per minute.
