What’s on my mind…

My Top 52 Albums of All Time

In deciding what my first post would be on my new blog, I thought what better then to post my top albums of all time list? This list initially came about when I was asked by my friend Corey Denis, who was putting together a series of top album lists for SFAppeal, if I would contribute my list of top 20 albums. Initially I thought, whoa – how am I going to do this? I have hundreds of CDs, tons of vinyl and terabytes of music in my collection. How would I ever narrow it down to a simple list of my 20 favorite albums?

I spent 2 straight days building a list which started at top 52 until I dwindled it down to top 20 (which was definitely NOT easy). Once I felt good about my top 52 list, I found out that Corey was in fact not looking for fave albums of all time, but fave albums from 2000-2009. That changed everything!

I turned around, re-focused and created a new list of my top 20 albums of 2000-2009 which you will see posted on SFAppeal’s site for Corey’s “Top Ten Top Twenty” series this week. But I still had this list of top 52 albums of all time. Since I put so much work into building this list, I thought I would share it with the world. The only rule I set for myself was to not include more than one album by an artist. If there was more than one album (such as OK Computer vs Kid A), I had to decide which one I preferred. I did allow myself the ability to include records such as compilations and live albums. If I considered them my faves, I figured why not? (All the albums on my list below are linked to services where you can buy and/or stream the music online and are in no particular order.)

So without further ado, here it is….My Top 52 Albums of All Time -
